Who are we?

Andy Hunter – partner/instructor.

Andy has been a fitness enthusiast all his life, but spent the majority of his early career in the theatre as an actor/puppeteer & is qualified in drama, directing and stagefighting. He has a passion for music and more recently sound technology.  Andy has worked on therapeutic services using movement and drama for young people with disabilities and loves to bring new skills and enthusiasm to all those he comes in contact with.  He has played rugby all his life, and is a qualified rugby coach. Andy caught the indoor cycling bug a few years ago, and together with his wife Jeannie, has travelled all over the UK, Spain and Italy to gain experience of the sport and develop his own skills.  He hopes to be able to bring his contacts, including master indoor cycling instructors from Sicily to bring new energy into LifesCycle.

Andy is a qualified instructor with SPINNING. Andy will concentrate on building a unique type of ride for the Centre with an emphasis on a more holistic approach.

Hugh McInnes – partner/instructor.

Hugh has been immersed in cycling both indoors and outdoors.  Starting while still at school, Hugh has been a competitive cyclist for years while working in the bicycle industry and co-owns a bike/triathlete shop in Edinburgh.

These years racing have provided him with tremendous insight into cycling and its effects on the cyclist’s body. Hugh will be able to leverage his passion and experience for bicycles, as well as his empirical experience as an athlete and as a fitness trainer to offer Edinburgh Life Cycle a wonderful cycling service. Hugh will also be able to use his mechanical skills to ensure that the bikes on site are always in efficient and pristine condition to enable all members to have a smooth and comfortable ride.

Hugh recently completed the NorseMan, purportedly the World’s hardest Ironman and regularly competes in triathlons, duathlons and on and off road races.

Jeannie Hunter- partner/instructor

Jeannie has always recognised the benefits of exercise on mental and physical health and as well as her interest in fitness, has always been involved professionally in people focused roles. She has several qualifications in dance, and gained her RSA exercise to music in 1990. Jeannie has enjoyed indoor cycling herself for a number of years and qualified in Spinning last year. She has contacts with the Italian Federation of SPINNING, FISPIN and also latterly the ICYFF, and hopes through LifesCycle to share her experiences with others
